In 2008, he founded GWS Services, introducing innovative approaches that gave the company a competitive edge in the market. Under his leadership, GWS Services became one of the largest volume masonry and stucco subcontractors in Texas before he strategically sold the company in 2020. When the buyers exited the market, Greg saw an opportunity to reenter the industry. In September 2021, he founded Axis Masonry and Stucco with key employees from GWS Services, ensuring a smooth transition and continuation of excellence. Greg’s vision, unwavering commitment, and extensive experience in healthcare, construction, and real estate development have positioned Axis Masonry and Stucco as a leader in the commercial construction market, delivering exceptional quality and service to clients throughout Texas.

Kolbey Schoener
Safety Director & Project Manager

Kolbey Schoener has worked in the construction industry since 2019 and joined Axis Masonry in late 2023. With over six years of industry experience, his responsibilities include project budgeting, submittals, samples, scheduling, material procurement, and overall project coordination from preconstruction through completion. He is known for strong organization, budgeting discipline, and clear communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams. Kolbey graduated cum laude from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship and is OSHA 30-certified, reinforcing his commitment to jobsite safety and operational excellence.

Philip “Trey” McDaniel
Estimator

Philip “Trey” McDaniel has over 20 years of experience in residential and commercial construction, specializing in masonry systems. As an Estimator and Project Manager at Axis Masonry and Stucco, Trey provides strategic leadership, support, and management to facilitate the successful completion of projects on time and on or under budget. He is committed to ensuring that Axis consistently exceeds client expectations through meticulous planning and execution. Trey takes pride in building strong, lasting relationships with both clients and team members, fostering collaboration and trust on every project.

Mike Lowery
Estimator & Project Manager

Mike Lowery brings eight years of construction industry experience to Axis Masonry and Stucco, where he has served as Project Manager and Estimator since June 2024. He is responsible for planning schedules, monitoring expenses, procuring materials, and scheduling crews to ensure proper installation within the scheduled duration and budget. Mike excels at effectively collaborating with field teams and general contractor teams to ensure quality installation and overcome any challenges that arise throughout the course of a project. Prior to joining Axis, Mike served as Project Manager and Estimator at Lowery Masonry beginning in 2018. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Louisiana State University and is a Rise Mentor in the Rise Mentoring program for Pearland ISD, demonstrating his commitment to giving back to the community.

Bailey Williams
Estimating & Project Coordinator

Bailey Williams brings eight years of construction industry experience to Axis Masonry and Stucco. In her dual role as Estimating Coordinator and Project Coordinator, Bailey handles bid requests, oversees the bid calendar, and manages the distribution and tracking of estimates. She also collaborates closely with Project Managers, facilitating coordination of submittals, purchase orders, subcontractor paperwork, and payments. Bailey previously worked with GWS Services for six years in accounts payable, bringing valuable operational knowledge to her current position.

Phillip Luttrell
Estimator

Phillip Luttrell has 56 years of experience in the construction industry with extensive expertise in both stucco and masonry. He spent 35 years installing lath and plaster before transitioning to estimating, where he has focused for the past 20 years. Since joining Axis Masonry and Stucco in 2021, Phillip has been responsible for reviewing project plans and specifications, performing detailed takeoffs, creating accurate cost estimates, and supporting project managers throughout the lifecycle of each project. A graduate of Sam Houston High School, Phillip previously served as Estimator and Project Manager at GWS Services from 2014 to 2020. His faithful work ethic, attention to detail, and team-oriented approach are the foundation of his long and successful career.

Genaro Guerrero
Superintendent

Genaro Guerrero is a second-generation mason and Houston native with over 43 years of masonry experience, including 13 years in superintendent supervision. A graduate of San Houston High School, Genaro is responsible for ensuring on-time materials delivery for all jobs, safe field operations, quality control, team execution on-site, and exceptional craftsmanship. His deep roots in the masonry trade and commitment to excellence make him an invaluable leader in the field.

Manuel Duran
Superintendent

Manuel Duran brings over 50 years of masonry expertise to Axis Masonry and Stucco. A graduate of Houston Technical Institute, Manuel joined the bricklayer union in 1972 while still in high school, beginning a distinguished career that has spanned five decades. Throughout his career, Manuel has worked through every role in the masonry field, from laborer and helper to mason, foreman, and superintendent, gaining comprehensive knowledge at every level of the trade.
Manuel specializes in block, brick, and stone installation with extensive hands-on experience. He has worked for some of the largest and most respected masonry companies in Houston, including over twenty years at Lowrey Masonry, where he honed his craft and developed deep industry knowledge. His decades of experience, exceptional work ethic, and commitment to quality ensure outstanding craftsmanship on every project.

Bailey Schoener
Business Development & Assistant Project Manager

Bailey Schoener joined Axis Masonry and Stucco in 2025, bringing a diverse professional background in coaching, sales, and admissions coordination. She is responsible for supporting business development efforts and assisting with project management across active masonry and stucco projects. Her duties include maintaining relationships with general contractors, supporting preconstruction and estimating coordination, and helping ensure projects stay organized and aligned with company standards. Bailey graduated from Houston Christian University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in General Business with a 3.9 GPA. She also played three years of collegiate women’s soccer at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, developing strong teamwork and leadership skills. Previously, Bailey served as an Admissions Coordinator at Prevention and Recovery Center and as an Account Executive at Goosehead Insurance.

Ethan Quigley
Assistant Project Manager

Ethan Quigley joined Axis Masonry and Stucco in 2025 as Assistant Project Manager. He supports project managers with day-to-day coordination, documentation, scheduling, and communication to ensure smooth project execution. A graduate of Tomball High School with college studies at Texas State University, Ethan brings five years of operations management experience from Eco Shield Texas, where he developed a strong understanding of field operations, team coordination, and project support functions. Known for his organizational skills and efficiency, Ethan is committed to streamlining processes and supporting successful project delivery.

Kelly Woomer
Office Manager

Kelly Woomer is an experienced Office Manager with over 42 years of professional experience, including 16 years in commercial construction and 26 years in oil and gas. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business & Office Administration and specializes in office management, human resources, accounting, payroll, and contract administration. Kelly’s responsibilities include managing accounts receivable and payable, vendor relationships, audit coordination, and ensuring compliance with HR policies. Her commitment to team collaboration and efficient solutions makes her an essential part of Axis Masonry and Stucco’s operations.

Jorge Madrid
Project Manager & Estimator

Jorge Madrid joined Axis Masonry and Stucco in 2026 as Project Manager and Estimator. He is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing projects from award through completion, as well as analyzing project plans and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates. Jorge brings nearly two decades of industry experience from HDE Inc., where he served as Estimator and Project Manager from 2006 to 2025. During his tenure, he oversaw multiple departments, developed proposals for over 228 projects, and was awarded numerous high-profile projects including the University of Houston Bayou Oaks, Fairmont Museum District III, and Southshore V.
